ALPHA @ Mount Pisgah

ALPHA is a ten-week practical introduction to the Christian faith that comes from the Holy Trinity Brompton Church (Anglican) in central London. ALPHA has spread around the globe with 50 million participants in over 150 countries. The ALPHA course helps local churches of any denomination actually do evangelism and also creates an environment for spiritual renewal within our faith communities. The ALPHA course is designed to provide a clear starting line for the journey of faith and a common starting point beyond simply attending worship. It is an ideal entry point for the individual who wants to take the next step on their faith journey and deepen their spiritual understanding. ALPHA is not only a place to learn, but a safe place to ask questions without the fear of intimidation or the threat of being made to feel stupid.

The ALPHA course comes in all shapes and sizes. It could be a half-dozen people meeting in a home or workplace, or as large as several hundred participants meeting in one room. Each ALPHA session consists of a shared meal, a 30-minute talk on a Christian essential, and a small group experience to discuss the session's topic. At the end of ALPHA, participants celebrate by inviting friends and family to come and learn through talks and testimony what ALPHA is and to invite them to join the next course.

The ALPHA Spring course begins with the Celebration Dinner on Sunday, January 9th, 2011 at 6:00pm. Our classes begin Wednesday night, January 19th for 10 weeks, with our Holy Spirit Retreat being held Friday and Saturday, February 25th and 26th.
