Youth Ministries

The Youth program at Mount Pisgah offers a tremendous opportunity for Christian growth, fellowship, and discipleship. The program is open to all Youth in Grades 6 through 12 and includes Sunday School classes and the Youth Fellowship called the "Whobodies".

For more information about how to get involved in Youth activities at Mount Pisgah, contact Zoot McClure, Director of Student Ministries, or Meredith Cohoon, Youth Coordinator, at (336) 288-3321.

Sunday School

On Sunday mornings, we offer three Sunday School classes. The 6th/7th Grade class meets at 9:45 a.m. and the Confirmation class (8th grade) and Senior High class (9th-12th grade) meet at 11:00 a.m. Confirmation is taught by the Youth Director and his staff, and the 6th/7th Grade class and Senior High class are led by dedicated adult counselors and parents who have made a commitment to our Youth.

Whobodies Youth Fellowship

The name "Whobodies" was inspired by the book Whobody There by Charles and Anne Morse. Each "Whobody" is a unique, unrepeatable miracle of God. Anybody can be a "Whobody". In fact, quite a lot of people have been a "Whobody" over the 30 years that the group has existed. Once a "Whobody", always a "Whobody"!

Sunday Nights

The Whobodies meet on Sunday nights from 4:00-6:00 p.m. for singing, prayer, large group lessons and small group discussions. We end at 6:30 p.m., following a meal prepared by Whobody parents or church volunteers. The cost is a nominal $3.00 per person per meal. Eating together is a great way to extend the fun and share fellowship!

Wednesday Nights

On Wednesdays, the Youth gather from 6:15-7:45 p.m. (during Wednesday Night Fellowship classes) to participate in a variety of outreach opportunities. These service projects include visiting area nursing homes, serving meals at the Night Shelter, random acts of kindness, and other community or congregation-oriented service activities.

...And More!

Other fellowship activities include beach and snow-skiing trips, sporting events, Christian music concerts, lock-ins, bowling, camping, movies, and laser tag, to name a few. Each summer, Youth Week features different group-building activities and outings every day. Operating the Pumpkin Patch each October provides funds for the Youth program by serving as our primary fundraiser for the year.

Mount Pisgah is committed to providing a strong Youth program with exposure to a variety of Christian experiences. Youth retreats (Fall & Spring) and conference-wide activities encourage spiritual growth. Mission trips (Spring & Summer) encourage service to others. The music ministry provides the opportunity to witness about the power and the love of God. There is truly a place for each young person to fit in here and discover their God-given talents. Join us and be a special person--be a "Whobody"!
