Worship Assistants

Do you have a heart for serving the church and the members of the Mount Pisgah community? If the answer is 'yes', we would love for you to volunteer as a Worship Assistant.

Worship Assistants play an important role at each of our three worship services. From greeting visitors to keeping nursery to serving communion, there are many ways that you can volunteer your time to make worship meaningful for others. For additional information about any of the roles below, contact the Church Office at (336) 288-3321.

Greeters

Greeters hold the important job of welcoming visitors, guests, and members to worship services each week. Positioned near the entrances, they demonstrate the fellowship and love that we extend to all who visit Mount Pisgah, as well as provide general information and orientation to the facilities. To volunteer as a Greeter, contact Patricia Cunningham.

Ushers

To volunteer as an Usher, contact Brent Holmes.

Hospitality Team

We want to practice “radical hospitality” at Mount Pisgah. The hospitality team members warmly greet guests and church members inside the sanctuary on Sunday mornings and help ensure that everyone feels welcome. The team members are identified by the hospitality "badges" they wear. Mount Pisgah strives to establish the feeling of "home"--where everyone is known by their name. To become involved in this ministry, contact...

Lectors

The Lector proclaims the Scripture as part of a worship service. This proclamation is a moment of grace that invokes God's presence. The Lector may be ordained clergy or a lay speaker. To volunteer as a Lector, contact Randy Lewis.

Acolytes

To volunteer as an Acolyte, contact Ann Jones.

Communion Stewards

Communion Stewards prepare and attend to the elements of Holy Communion when Communion is celebrated in worship. To volunteer as a Communion Steward, contact Doris Light.

A/V Techs

We have many dedicated volunteers who run sound or build and run visual programs for our worship services. Are you interested in technology and willing to learn? Whether you're experienced or a novice, contact Rad Satterfield to participate in this emerging ministry at Mount Pisgah.

Children's Church Leaders

To volunteer with Children's Ministries, contact Vaughan Long.

Nursery Attendants

To volunteer as a Nursery Attendant, contact Vaughan Long.

Counters

To volunteer as a Counter, contact Greg Light.

Altar Guild

The Altar Guild is responsible for keeping the Sanctuary looking its very best. We change the paraments according to the Church calendar, see that the hymnals are straightened and envelopes are in the pews, sharpen pencils, tear out ritual of friendship sheets after each service, and help the acolytes with their robes and lighters. If you would like to serve on the Altar Guild, call Betty Collins at (336) 282-1085.

Doorstep Ministry

To volunteer with the Doorstep Ministry, contact Donald Thomas.
