Purpose
The United Methodist Men (UMM) is a creative, supportive fellowship of men who seek to know Jesus Christ, to grow spiritually, and to seek His will on a daily basis. UMM seeks to provide opportunities for spiritual growth, Christian service, and Christian fellowship. The main objectives are to support the United Methodist Church, to engage in outreach to the community and world, and to strive to clarify the identity and role of the Christian man in contemporary society.
Activities
The United Methodist Men have monthly dinner meetings (September through May) with special speakers on a variety of topics. Activities are designed to give men a great opportunity for fellowship and include church-wide pancake breakfasts, hamburger suppers, ice cream socials, etc. Fundraisers include an annual Brunswick stew sale. There are ample opportunities for any man to take part in as many of the activities as desired.
Service
The service projects of the United Methodist Men include support of missions within Mount Pisgah, such as Scouting, the Whobodies Youth Group, and the ELP Scholarship Fund. Service projects also include support of outreach missions including Habitat for Humanity, Hospice, Urban Ministry, and Triad Children's Home.
