Trinity
We believe that God has three parts, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This is a foundational belief which means that we have one God who is known to us in three different ways.
God The Father
We believe that God the Father is the Creator and Sovereign of everything. He is the God of all people and is infinite in power, wisdom, justice, goodness and love.
God The Son - Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is God, One who came to us as a human being, died an earthly death, and was raised to eternal life after three days. By doing so, He conquered sin and death for us. He brings salvation to us through His work and enables us to live with Him in eternity.
God The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the full and equal part of God who is with us now. Jesus said that this would be the form of God we would relate to after He was resurrected. The Holy Spirit empowers us to love God, live in Him, and accept His offer of salvation.
The Bible
We believe that the Bible is the prime resource for our knowledge of God and God’s requirements for living in His world. Its importance is paramount as all that is required for salvation is contained in this holy book. We hold it in high regard and refer to it in almost everything we do. It is God’s truth, a living document containing the Old Testament (the Word before Christ’s birth) and the New Testament (the Word during and after Christ’s life on earth).
Love
This is the essence of God, which He shares with us in a form called grace. It is through God’s grace that we have salvation.
Salvation
We believe that salvation is a gift from God through the work of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. It is a free gift which we cannot earn. We have salvation when we believe that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior, the One who creates and shares life. Salvation means that we have eternal life.
Sin
We believe that sin is separation from God where the motivation of our being, thoughts, and actions comes from things other than God. Sin is derived from evil and it takes the work of Jesus Christ to overcome it. Fortunately, Christ willingly died on the cross for the redemption of our sin.
Forgiveness
We believe that Jesus Christ takes our sin away when we, in sincerity and truth, ask Him. This is one of the great aspects of our faith where we can be forgiven for our sin.
The Church
We believe that the church literally is the people of God, that is, the group of believers who brings His Word to all the people of the world. Without the church, there would be organization to propagate and maintain the faith. The church brings people to faith and nurtures them in it. It is essential to one’s faith to be an active part of the church.
Reaching Out
We believe that it is the duty of each Christian to demonstrate his/her faith to others, and to reach out in concern and service to the world. This is called being in mission – that is, to make Christ known and to serve Him by serving others.
Humanity
We believe that each person is a loving creation of God and is made in His image. We are prone to separate from Him, but are drawn back by the Holy Spirit through His grace. It is up to us to accept or reject that grace and offer of salvation.
Evil
We believe that evil exists as the Bible tells us – a powerful and seductive force. Jesus Christ overcomes evil through His work and power – a power available to us through the Holy Spirit.
